One of the merits of being a photographer is being able to interact and connect with diverse people from different backgrounds and spheres of life.
Recently I had the honor of doing a portrait session for an Indian Army Veteran, Mr. Suresh Narayan and his adorable wife, Mrs. Nirmala Narayan, who decided to take the ‘road less travelled’.
A second-generation Indian Army Officer, he was selected to join the prestigious National Defense Academy, Pune, India. After an intense training, he graduated and got commissioned in the Corp of Signals on 23rd Dec 1973. That is when he met his beautiful wife.
After 11 years of meritorious service, the young couple decided to migrate to the US in 1983.
As one would imagine, a change from military background to a civil environment wasn’t easy, but they were determined to make it work. Mr. Narayan obtained an MBA from the Graziadio Business school at Pepperdine University, Malibu, California in 1994, and ever since there was no looking back. He worked with some of the big brands such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Fidelity, BCBS etc. and traveled across the world to conduct workshops and seminars for clients.
Today, he is enjoying a peaceful retired life in North Carolina with his sweet wife of 47 years, who has been his pillar of strength. Though sometimes things don't go as planned, he firmly believes that there is no compensation for hard work. He has never failed to believe in his potential and will never stop learning.
